    Best time to visit Romania

    July and August are the best to enjoy the beaches. Romania has a continental climate. Hot, dry winds from the east cause droughts in the plains in the north and east. The same region suffers very cold winds in winter. Summers are normally hot and sunny, with nine or ten hours of sunshine a day. The coast of the Black Sea and the area east of the Carpathians are the warmest. Winters can be very cold and foggy, with heavy snow from December to April. Much of Romania's rainfall is in spring.

    Tourist spots in Romania

    • Constanta - Constanta is the largest sea port on the Black Sea. It was once a greek colony. This place is abundant with all that a tourist need, starting from museums to beaches. Constanta is a mix of architectures and cultures spanning hundreds of years and several continents. The archeological museum is also a great resource.
    • Mamaia - Best to visit in July and August, this is surely a place to be for the beach lovers. It is famous for its sand beaches and electronic music.
    • Sibiu, Transelvania – This beautiful town is a very quite place and is best to wander about. It's over 800 years old and parts of the old city walls and towers can still be seen on the east side of the city.
    • Brasov - Brasov is a spectacular treat. You can also visit the Bran castle which is close by. It's a well-loved base for exploring the mountains.
    • Sighisoara - Sighisoara is a medieval town and is the birthplace of fictional Dracula. You may also visit the medieval citadel of Sighişoara to enjoy its true essence.

    • One Star Hotel: - Prices start at around €20/£13 per night. Basic facilities and clean environment is provided. Some rooms might have a shared bath.

    • Hostels: - Youth hostels cost between €10/£7 and €30/£20 per night depending on the number of people per room and facilities available.
    • Bed and Breakfast :- Bed and Breakfast offers clean and inexpensive accommodations as well as the opportunity to learn about the day to day life and culture of rural Romania. Visitors will have the chance to try fresh, organic farm products.
